Thanks for visiting Muscle Building Foods HQ. I am Paul. I created this site with the intention of helping people answer their questions about nutrition, and working out. I have been a personal trainer since 2000 and over the years have helped hundreds of clients reach their goals. For me, fitness has been a passion for most of my life and I enjoy educating and motivating people. This site allows me to help people on a larger scale.
My interest in working out started when I was playing football in high school. I continued playing football and working out while in college, but an injury ended my football career and forced me to change the way I exercised. During that time I learned different workout techniques that focused on core strength and stability. This was very different than what I had been taught previously.
After graduating from college I moved to Los Angeles and my interest in health and fitness continued. It was there I began a career in personal training. As much as I thought I knew from years of working out, I quickly learned there was so much that I did not know. This inspired me to further my education and research. I learned about nutrition. I learned about workout programming. I also learned that many of the things I did while training for athletics would not be suitable for the goals of most clientele.
While the majority of my clients were looking to lose body fat, I trained people with every type of goal you can imagine. Most of their goals fit into the 3 major categories which were building muscle, burning fat or increasing athletic performance. When increasing someone’s athletic ability a lot depended on the workout structure and the design of the program, but when someone wanted to really change how they looked, whether it be getting bigger or getting smaller, nutrition played a major role in the plan. While all of these clients had different goals, building muscle was an important key to helping them achieve their ultimate goals.
In addition to training my clients I was also training myself. I have had many different goals over the years so I know what challenges my clients were facing. I started playing rugby after football ended and started doing routines that were increasing my speed and agility. Y workouts also had an emphasis on power and explosiveness. During that same time period, I also did some modeling so I needed to be cut. I dropped my body fat percentage from around 14% to around 7%. I wasn’t super ripped, but I was cut enough to see my six-pack. When I stopped modeling I was really looking to put on more size and added around 30 pounds of muscle over the next 2 years. This was not as quick as some of my clients, but I was happy with the results.
This site is really a culmination of the years I have put in to fitness. It is my intention to let you know the things that worked for me and have worked for my clients and also to inform you of the things that have not worked. This site does not have any lengthy sales pitches because I am not selling any products on this site. I may develop a product in the future and if it does I will let you know. My goal is to create a community that can help people answer the questions people have about fitness. Muscle building foods hq is not just for people who want to get bigger muscles, it’s for everyone who want to take their fitness to the next level.
